KOKF Generator

About OKF Generator

OKF Generator is an independent, browser-based tool for turning public company websites into portable, structured, AI-ready knowledge.

What this tool does

OKF Generator scans a public company website and produces a structured knowledge package you can use in Markdown, JSON, YAML, HTML, TXT, CSV, XML, or the Open Knowledge Format (OKF). The output captures company information, products and services, contacts, social profiles, detected technologies, documentation, and API endpoints — with metadata, schema, taxonomy, and linked references so the result is readable by both people and machines.

Why it exists

Useful knowledge is often trapped in a website's layout and inaccessible to AI systems, knowledge graphs, and other tools. We built OKF Generator to make that information portable and interoperable — to support data portability, knowledge management, open access, and reuse without locking content into a closed format or a single application.

How it works

  • Enter the URL of any public company website.
  • The tool reads pages, sitemap data, and robots.txt rules to understand the site's structure.
  • It identifies company details, products, contacts, social profiles, technologies, documentation, and API endpoints.
  • You export the result as structured, machine-readable files in the format you choose.

Privacy and control

The generator runs entirely in your browser. The websites you scan are processed locally, not uploaded to our servers. There is no required signup, no server-side storage, and no vendor lock-in. You keep full control over the knowledge you create and where it goes.

Our approach to open standards

OKF is designed around open standards and principles rather than as a replacement for them. It takes inspiration from the Open Definition, FAIR principles, the Semantic Web, and Linked Data, and it can work alongside established formats such as RDF, JSON-LD, XML, CSV, ODF, and PDF. The goal is interoperability, not reinvention.

Who we are not

OKF Generator is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or part of the Open Knowledge Foundation, Creative Commons, W3C, the Open Data Institute, or Wikimedia Foundation. We reference their work because their standards and ideas have shaped how we think about open knowledge, open data, and open access.

Who maintains this project

OKF Generator is published by OKF Generator. We are a small, independent team focused on making structured, interoperable knowledge easier to create and reuse.
